Just a quick post before the plane leaves from Denver to Anchorage to meet up with 100 teachers from all over the country (and three teachers from Germany). If you’re wondering if there’s going to be any learning taking place, take a look at our program.

It seems like we’ve been talking about our Science at Sea program for a few years, and come to think of it… we have. The idea was really born two years ago and now we’re seeing all of the pieces come together. Today, we were fortunate to have our Alaskan naturalist, John Scheerens, in our offices along with Gina MacDonald from AAA Travel to finalize all of the details that go into making an Spangler experience of this magnitude happen. The people at Carnival promise to get us to each of our ports of call in style while the instructional team on shore is ready to knock our socks off with some amazing Alaskan experiences.
Good news and bad news… The Science at Sea experience is almost sold out, but that means there are only six spots left. If you’re interested in being a part of a once in a lifetime experience, you have just a few days left to join our group. Our special discount pricing expires this Friday, April 3rd. We’re excited to announce that registration for our seven day Science at Sea cruise to Alaska in June just broke the 70 mark. Our goal is to cut-off registration at 100 in an effort to keep the group manageable and comfortable. If you’re considering being one of the remaining 30 people who will share in this incredible experience, you might want to put your decision-making efforts into high gear. Carnival Cruises just offered our group updated pricing on the cabins that remain in our group inventory.
PRICING UPDATE – January 20, 2009
Basic Interior Cabin – $725
Higher Interior Cabin – $755
Basic Balcony Cabin – $1,055
Mid Level Balcony Cabin – $1,115
High Level Balcony Cabin – $1,135
Carnival Cruises promises to offer our Science at Sea participants pricing that beats their lowest advertised pricing for this cruise. If the price goes down based on incentives offered by Carnival, you’re final payment will reflect this discount. You can find all of the details on our Science at Sea information page.

Join us for an unforgettable experience – June 17-24, 2009
I’m excited to announce our newest teacher training experience… Science at Sea – The Alaska Adventure! We’re taking the Spangler Science experience to the seas for a one-week learning adventure with Carnival Cruises and some of our closest friends (that’s you). For years teachers who have attended our workshops have been asking for training in the life sciences, and we’ve waited for just the right opportunity. This Science at Sea experience has been two years in the planning with both Carnival Cruises and AAA Travel to ensure the best experience possible.
We’ve assembled an award-winning group of naturalists who will lead us through an unforgettable learning experience June 17-24, 2009. The Science at Sea cruise sets sail from Anchorage (Whittier) and stops in Prince William Sound, College Fjord, Sitka, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, the Inside Passage and wraps up in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
You’ll find much more information in our Science at Sea 2009 section, including pricing options, excursion details and an ever-growing FAQ.
