According to her producers, Ellen DeGeneres is still wild about science… and she wants to know what I might have up my sleeve for February 13th. During the first visit, Ellen changed her voice, triggered a eruption of oxygen bubbles and shot giant smoke rings at the audience. Ellen performed the famous Tablecloth Trick on the second visit, prepared food using liquid nitrogen and showed everyone an explosive way to carve pumpkins.
What's up for February 13th? The only thing we can say at this point is… beakers, bowls, light bulbs and a cement truck. Should be fun.

VIDEO: Watch Steve on the Ellen Show
Experiments Steve did on Ellen – Elephant’s Toothpaste | Smoke Rings | Anti-Helium
Let’s just say it’s all kind of a blur… three experiments, lots of laughs and an invitation to come back. I couldn’t ask for any more. My wife and I left Denver on Wednesday to fly out to Burbank, California to tape the show on Thursday. As you might imagine, all of my “stuff” was trusted to the great people at FedEx because the airlines don’t really understand why passengers should travel with beakers, strange liquids or trash cans used to blow smoke rings. The Ellen Show has an amazing staff – all of the producers and backstage people did anything possible to accommodate our every need. Contrary to what you might think,

When the phone rings, we never know quite what to expect. The phone rang and on the other end was a senior producer at the Ellen Show (you know… Ellen DeGeneres). It seems that this producer had been watching a few of our science videos and wanted to know if Ellen would have fun making huge clouds with liquid nitrogen, shooting potatoes, whipping up a batch of slime or learning how to make toilet paper fly. My response was “yes” to all of the above. But maybe it’s best if you help us decide which science experiments would be most fun to do with Ellen. Of course, the goal of the segment is to show parents how to make learning fun… and what could be more fun than 50 gallons of Insta-Snow erupting on the set?
Now this doesn’t mean that I’m automatically on the show… they’re just interested. So, what cool science demos should I pitch to the producers at the Ellen Show?
